Caroline Finn

United Kingdom – born in Bromley on May 13th, 1981.



Caroline attended the Arts Educational School in Tring Park, United Kingdom from 1992-1999, before moving to New York where she acquired a BFA Degree from the Juilliard School in 2004.

Immediately thereafter she began her professional career as a member of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplaz in Munich, Germany before joining in 2007 the Ballet Preljocaj in Aix en Provence, France. In 2009 she was one of six internationally selected choreographers to take part in SiWiC – Schweizerischer internationaler Weiterbildungskurs in Choreographie in Zurich.

She has worked closely with choreographers such as Ohad Naharin and Carolyn Carlson; most recently in 2011 for Carlson’s new creation: We were horses. Since 2009 Caroline is active as a freelance dancer and choreographer presenting her work all around the globe.



In 2009 she created her acclaimed solo work Bernadette which has been performed in Aix en Provence, Munich, Luzern, Berlin, Paris, South Korea and in Interdans2013, Lebbeke. It’s success led to the demand for an expansion of the work into a duet for a man and a woman. Entitled Them, this work was premiered at the Pasinger Fabrik, Munich in 2011.

Caroline has been commissioned to create new works for companies such as CCBC - Cross Connection Ballet Company, Copenhagen, Compagnie DIEM and Tanz Luzerner Theater. In 2010 she was awarded the Production Prize 2010 at CICC – Copenhagen International Choreography Competition and returned to Copenhagen in 2011 to create Beside Myself – a work for two women. For Tanz Luzerner Theater she created Sleeping Trout in 2011 and Sto Spiti in 2013. Since 2012 Caroline has created two full evening length works for the opening of Theater in Kempten’s TanzHerbst festivalParadise for Beginners, 2012 and Flora in the Slaughterhouse, 2013 She was also one of the four selected choreographers to reinterpret John Cage’s Sixteen Dances with live orchestra for the 2012 D.A.N.C.E festival in Munich.

In 2013 she was the winner of the New Adventures Choreographer Awardand will be creating a new work for Phoenix Dance Theater UK in 2015.

Caroline is based in Munich where she teaches regularly at various dance studios. She is a member of Tanztendenz München.
